This European Standard specifies the technical requirements to deal with the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, common to trailers, as defined in the scope of EN 15954-1, including machinery, attachments and equipment permanently fixed to the trailer, intended for construction, maintenance and/or inspection of the railway infrastructure, emergency rescue and recovery. This European Standard specifies the technical requirements to deal with the common hazards during transport, assembly and installation, commissioning, running on track, use (including setting, programming, and process changeover), operation, cleaning, fault finding, maintenance and de-commissioning of the trailers when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer; see Clause 4. NOTE Specific measures for exceptional circumstances are not dealt with in this European Standard. They can be the subject of negotiation between manufacturer and the machine operator. The common hazards dealt with include the general hazards presented by the trailers, as well as the hazards presented by the following specific trailer functions: track renewal; rail maintenance; craning; catenary renewal / maintenance; maintenance of the components of the infrastructure; inspection and measurement of the components of the infrastructure; tunnel inspection / ventilation; emergency rescue and recovery during commissioning, use, maintenance and servicing. This European Standard applies to trailers that are not intended to operate signalling and control systems. Other similar machines are dealt with in other European Standards; see Annex D. It is assumed that a finished standard automotive chassis used as a host for a road-rail trailer will offer an acceptable safety level for its designed functions before conversion. This specific aspect is not dealt with in this European Standard. This European Standard does not deal with: a) requirements with rega
This part of EN 1012 is applicable to compressors having an operating pressure greater than 0,5 bar and designed to utilise all gases other than air, nitrogen or inert gases which are covered in part 1. The standard lists the significant hazards associated with compressors and specifies safety requirements applicable to the design, installation, operation, maintenance and dismantling of compressors during their foreseeable lifetime and subsequent disposal. This part of EN 1012 includes under the general term compressors, those machines which comprise;- the compressor itself- a prime mover- any component or device supplied which is necessary for safe operation of the compressor. In addition it applies to partly completed compressors having a compressor in combination with some of these components as well as compressor assemblies operating in combination.Excluded are refrigerant compressors used in refrigerating systems or heat pumps as defined in EN 378-1.
This document applies to concrete compactors and smoothing machines as defined in Clause 3 and illustrated in Annex A and Annex B. This standard also applies for hand-held motor-operated concrete vibrators as defined in EN 60745-2-12:2009, but with the additional safety requirements for electronically controlled systems as defined in this standard (see 5.2.1.2). This document does not deal with auxiliary equipment which provides the energy for internal and external vibrators, e. g. air compressors, hydraulic power sources and voltage transformers. This document does not apply to remote-controlled or portable smoothing machines and self-acting (robotic) smoothing machines.
This European Standard specifies the requirements for the design, dimensions, performance and testing of single, double and multiple brake indicators. It applies to pneumatically and electrically operating brake indicators visible from the outside of the vehicle. This European Standard applies to brake indicators on railway vehicles used on the main national networks, urban networks, underground railways, trams and private networks (regional railways, company railways etc.). This document does not apply to brake indicators for magnetic track brake or eddy current brake.
This part of IEC 60300 gives guidance on specifying the required dependability characteristics in specifications, together with specifications of procedures and criteria for verification and validation: - advice on specifying quantitative and qualitative reliability, maintainability, availability and maintenance support requirements; - advice to purchasers of a system on how to ensure that the specified requirements will be fulfilled by suppliers; - advice to suppliers to help them to meet purchaser requirements.
This part of IEC 61375 applies to data communication in Open Trains, i.e. it covers data communication between consists of the said open trains and data communication within the consists of the said open trains.
This part of IEC 61375 applies where Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB) is required. The MVB is specified as one component one component of the Train Communication Network (TCN).
This part of IEC 61375 specifies the data communication network inside a Consist based on Ethernet technology, The applicability of this part of IEC 61375 to the Consist Network allows for interoperability of individual vehicles within Open Trains in international traffic.
This European Standard specifies minimum and maximum limiting requirements for braking systems and performance. The Transport Authority defines the particular parameters where required in this European Standard and specifies any additional braking requirements to the vehicle builder/braking system supplier.\nThis European Standard specifies requirements and performances for the braking of vehicles for urban transport systems, running on steel or rubber tyred wheels and guided by steel rails or other equivalent means.\nThis European Standard applies to vehicles operating on:\n— tramways;\n— light railways;\n— metros on steel wheels;\n— metros on rubber tyred wheels;\n— Commuter/Regional railways; \nand is applicable to:\n— all newly designed vehicles;\n— all major refurbishments, if these include either redesign or extensive modifications to the brake system;\n— any new builds of existing designs of vehicles. For this type of vehicle, the Transport Authority may specify performance values different from those defined in this European Standard.\nThis European Standard does not apply to special transport systems, e.g. suspended monorail, rack and pinion lines, isolated operations such as scenic railways, special duty vehicles, etc.\nTransport Authorities shall ensure that specifications include this European Standard as part of the brake system requirements. Suppliers shall identify, at the time of tendering, any non-compliances against this European Standard.\nCompliance with the functional and performance requirements defined in this European Standard is verified by testing in accordance with EN 13452-2.
This European Standard consolidates all the separate requirements specified in rolling stock TSIs andEuropean Standards relating to bogies and running gear together into an overall requirement and process thatensures a functional and safe design is achieved for a defined operating envelope. There are many European Standards that specify the design requirements and associated processes of bogieand running gear components and sub-assemblies. There are also European standards that specify vehicleperformance and validation requirements that depend directly on the bogies or running gear. The objective ofthis standard is to bring all these separate design criteria together. This is accomplished by specifying thedesign and validation processes to be used for bogies and running gear with particular focus on the two keydisciplines of dynamic behaviour and structural integrity. To ensure that safe operation can be continuedthroughout the product life the definition of a maintenance plan is also required. This European Standard is applicable to bogies and running gear intended for vehicles that will operate underthe Interoperability Directives on designated TEN routes. The requirements, however, can be used in otherapplications at the discretion of the interested parties. It specifies the requirements to achieve a satisfactorydesign of bogie or running gear and to validate the design against the relevant performance and safety criteria.Technical requirements are specified directly or by making reference to the relevant European standards andinclude the nature and content of an auditable record that should be produced of the design and validationprocesses. The requirements address only the design and validation of bogies and running gear. No requirements are setfor other systems components that are attached to the bogies or running gear, except to establish that asatisfactory interface has been provided.NOTE Specifications that relate to bogies and running gear can only be considered in the context of a specific vehicleapplication. Therefore the performance, both safety and otherwise, can relate only to the bogies and running gear as partof a vehicle configuration and not to the individual elements of the bogies or running gear.
