La présente partie de la IEC 60598 détaille les prescriptions applicables aux luminaires portatifs pour enfants utilisant des lampes à filament de tungstène ou des lampes fluorescentes à culot unique avec des tensions d'alimentation ne dépassant pas 250 V. Elle doit être lue conjointement avec les sections de la Partie 1 auxquelles il est fait référence.Cette partie n'est pas applicable aux cas suivants:- luminaires portatifs spécifiquement placés comme élément de décoration additionnel dans des configurations décoratives temporaires dues à des festivités ou cérémonies;- luminaires d'ambiance à bas niveau d'éclairement intégrés avec une fiche, c'est-à-dire qui forment un élément d'un dispositif à fiche;- luminaires alimentés par des piles ou des accumulateurs ou qui ne sont pas prévus pour une connexion directe au réseau;- jouets;- luminaires con?us ou clairement destinés à une utilisation par les adultes;- luminaires équipés d'abat-jour amovibles comportant des reproductions graphiques en deux dimensions de personnes ou d'animaux (réels ou imaginaires).
