This European Standard specifies the requirements, the test methods and the marking of domestic flueless space heaters, including diffusive catalytic combustion heaters, having a nominal heat input (Hs), not exceeding 4,2 kW burning 3rd family gases at nominal operating pressures not exceeding 50 mbar, referred to in the text as 'appliances'. This European Standard is applicable to the following types of appliances: a) fixed heaters burning commercial butane and/or commercial propane; b) portable or mobile heaters burning either commercial butane, or, commercial butane and commercial propane including those that incorporate a LPG container installation compartment for a transportable refillable liquefied petroleum LPG container. There are no specific thermal efficiency requirements appropriate to these types of appliance as: c) all the heat produced by the combustion process is released into the space to be heated; d) the requirements with regard to the combustion performance, which is a safety matter, ensure the effective burning of the fuel gas. It does not cover appliances incorporating electrically operated gas control systems. Annex A gives the details of the categories of appliances marketed in various countries. Requirements for appliances given in this standard assume that the supply of gas from the container will be governed by a pressure regulator having a maximum nominal outlet pressure of 50 mbar. This European Standard does not cover LPG containers for liquefied petroleum gas neither their associated regulator nor tubing and flexible hoses which shall comply with national requirements in force. This European Standard only covers type testing.

This European Standard describes the method of specifying the design, installation criteria for system chimneys, construction of custom built chimneys, and the relining of existing chimneys. It also gives information on commissioning of chimneys. This European Standard also deals with connecting flue pipes. This European Standard does not apply to freestanding chimneys covered by EN 13084-1.This European Standard excludes chimneys designated H (high positive pressure chimneys) and chimneys for room-sealed heating appliances. For the purpose of this European Standard the term \"installation\" includes construction.

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the construction, safety, marking and rational use of energy of open fronted gas-fired independent space heaters with and without a fan to assist with the transportation of flue gases. Although the fan may be mounted outdoors, this standard only covers appliances where the body of the appliance is indoors. This standard applies to types B11AS, B11BS, B14AS, and B14BS open fronted gas-fired independent space heating appliances that incorporate an atmospheric burner, that are connected directly to an open flue or to a device to evacuate the products of combustion (open-flued appliances), that have a nominal heat input not exceeding 20 kW (based on the net calorific value) and that are delivered with the gas-carrying components, burner (s), combustion chamber and heat exchanger fully assembled.
This document specifies, for the purpose of type examination, the requirements and test methods for construction, safety, marking and rational use of energy of 2ne and 3rd family gas-fired domestic flueless space heating appliances having a nominal input not exceeding 6 kW (based on net calorific value). It covers the following Type AAS fixed flueless heaters: NOTE These are type A appliances fitted with an atmosphere sensing device, with or without a fan. a) heaters with or without a catalytic converter; b) Category 1 appliances burning gases of the second family; c) Category 2 appliances burning gases of the second and third families. It does not cover qi. Mobile heaters.ii. Category 1 appliances burning gases of the third family.iii. Portable flueless heaters.iv. Diffusive catalytic combustion heaters. There are no specific thermal efficiency requirements appropriate to these types of appliance as: -- All the heat produced by the combustion process is released into the space to be heated. -- The requirements with regard to the combustion performance, which is a safety matter, ensure the effective burning of the fuel gas.
